Jose recorded 4 times this song by Higginbothom, sure he most important was relesead at end 1968 at apex of his success after Light My Fire and was charted in USA BillBoard #25 and #44 on R&B charts and #9 on Usa CashBox, # 1 in Korea and charted in other countries with the LP Souled, sure this version is fantastic a soul-blues creative version with unusual, at that time, his great classical guitar and congas with a great orchestral arrangements: unfortunately this version is almost missed today, on many many compilations of today because the compiler put some wrong versions instead, the first in fact was recorded by a very young Jose in 1964 in his first LP only with guitar, bass and harmonica and is less interessants (4 stars), also was released on the 1969 live Album Alive-Alive-o! (5 stars) and again re-recorded in 1997 (4 stars) in his personal studio for a retrospective simply album (Presente Tense) which was repubblished in an incredible number of recent compilations with many many differents labels. Found the 1968 version only in "The Best Of" CD released originally by RCA in 1989, absolutely oustanding version, perfect for modern chill-out compilation with soul/blues/samba influences
